On the National Front
Today’s national average price at the pump is $3.28 per gallon. This is four cents more expensive than one month ago, but it is three cents less than both one week ago and the same date last year.
Pump prices across the country mostly have fallen over the last week. The majority of these declines have been minimal—however, average prices in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio have each dropped more than a dime. These three states registered among the largest increases last week due to refinery issues. This week’s decline is a pull back from those prices.
At the close of formal trading on the NYMEX Tuesday, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil settled at $94.99 per barrel.
