In honor of breast cancer awareness month the Scioto County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Board of DD) has conducted a number of events.
One of the activities included the development of a music video. The music is an adaptation of the Aerosmith song ‘Pink.’
“I wanted to do something different with our group (Scioto County Board of DD), in support of breast cancer awareness. I took the Aerosmith version of ‘Pink’, rewrote the lyrics,” said Shawn Jordan, Awareness Coordinator of the Scioto County Board of DD. “I approached one of our consumers, Adrian Seymour, and asked him if he would be willing to sing it, for the music video, he agreed.”
She said the whole idea behind the video was to do something different.
“We wanted to show that our individuals support breast cancer awareness and we wanted to have fun at the same time,” Jordan said.
She said Adrian was able to sing the song at the WNXT radio station.
“Once I got the final cut of the music I went to a number different locations we have to shoot footage. One thing we were trying throughout the video was recreate the ribbon (that’s typically used as a symbol for breast cancer awareness) with their hands,” Jordan said.
She said the video took about two and a half days to shoot and edit.
She said on Monday, Oct. 7 the staff of the Scioto County Board of DD were encouraged to wear pink on Monday Oct. 7 for a group photo.
The ‘Pink’ tribute video can be found on the Scioto County Board of DD Youtube Channel.
