South Portsmouth Homemakers

The South Portsmouth Homemakers met at McKell Library on Tuesday, September 3rd. Hostess for the meeting were Bernetia and Sharon Williams. After a circle prayer led by Glenda Ward a luncheon of pizza, salads and deserts were served.

President Marsla Warnock then called the meeting to order. She passed out pens that were won by members for 5, 10, 20, 25 and 50 years in the Homemakers organization. Devotions were given by Bernetia on “liberty” and “reflections of fall.”

Roll call was answered by members telling of “most recent vacation or stay-cation” eighteen members and guests were present.

A motion was made by Mary Alice De Hart and seconded by Beulah Hacker to accept Billie Carter and Janet Van Bibber to act as secretary since Donna Shumway was moving away.

The Homemakers Creed was read in unison.

The treasurers report was given by Nesba Kibler, minutes were read and approved by Janet Van Bibber. Glenda has agreed to do the scrapbook with the help of the members.

Lynda Polly asked everyone to keep a record of the things they do during the year so she can have it for the club of the year report.

Bea Thompson will check on a place for the clubs annual Christmas Party.

The clubs next meeting will take place on October 1 at 11 a.m. at the McKell Library Hostess will be Glenda Ward and Janet Van Bibber.
