NB police arrest man for trafficking

New Boston Police made a drug arrest in the early hours of Sunday, charging Matthew Waters with trafficking in marijuana and heroin.

According to New Boston Police, over the past several months officers have received numerous complaints and tips of possible drug activity at 3872 Gallia St. Officers executed a search warrant at the address at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, and reportedly seized drug paraphernalia items, digital scales, drug instruments, needle and syringes, a handgun, and cash totaling of $699.

Waters, age 21, was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana and trafficking in heroin. He was taken to the New Boston Police Department for booking and processing, and later transferred to the Scioto County Jail awaiting his appearance in the Portsmouth Municipal Court.

Police said this case will be given to the Scioto County Prosecutor Office, and New Boston Police expect additional criminal charges to be added to his charges through the grand jury process.
