Fall-O-Ween Carnival will help raise money for school needs

October 29, 2012

The Scioto County Board of Developmental Disabilities (SCBDD) will hold a Fall-O-Ween carnival on Oct. 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Vern Riffe School. The event will help raise money for the Carousel Center’s playground fund and Vern Riffe School’s prom and graduation.

“This is a new venture for us. But one that we feel is a great way for the community to join us in having some fun while supporting some of the programs we have here at Scioto DD,” said Jim Krumer, superintendent of SCBDD.

Activities will include games, cake walk, a Zombie House, witches brew, costume judging contest, pumpkin decorating, face painting, silent auction and more.

“There will be something for everyone to take part in. We hope to see families from all over our area come out and enjoy the evening with us,” he said.

The cost of admission is $.25 per person or is free if participants bring a canned food item or wear a costume. Tickets for the various activities are $.25 each or five for $1. For more information, contact Shawn Jordan, awareness coordinator, at 354-3938.
